Transform your leaky, noisy polycarbonate or glass conservatory roof into a solid, tiled masterpiece. Enjoy a warm, quiet space tailored to Northamptonshire’s chilly winters and rainy summers.
Until 2010, UK building regulations mandated a portion of the conservatory roof to be made of translucent material to be exempt from standard building rules.
Moreover, the “sunroom” trend in the 1980s and 90s, and the fact that glass and polycarbonate are much lighter than traditional tiles, explain why conservatories in Northamptonshire were originally made of highly conductive materials.
The problems that arise due to conservatory roofs having conductive materials like glass and polycarbonate:
The tiled conservatory roof replacement solves these problems and makes the space a natural extension of your home that you can use year-round. Exactly how it solves the problems:
Conventional glass and polycarbonate roofing make a conservatory in Northamptonshire a temporary sun trap and not a room you can use anytime.
Here’s precisely why:
At Midlands Insulated Conservatory, the entire roof replacement process centres around you.
The first assessment is when we get to know each other and learn about your roof’s current condition. We decide together what your roof needs and the materials we are going to use. With the quote, we will clearly define exactly what you are paying for.
Before we touch your roof, we cover areas with dust covers. We also remove any furniture for free to a safe space. Once everything is set up, we carefully dismantle the old polycarbonate or glass roof.
The contract is firm once you review the quote and agree to it. Then we set a start date and timeline within which we can easily complete the tiled roofing work.
We treat fire-rated timber battens internally and externally and install 50mm Celotex insulation. We add a 19mm layer of SuperQuilt insulation blanket. Underneath that, we add a solid ceiling base and use a finish of your choice (UPVC‑clad ceiling or plaster & skim).
On the outside, we first lay a waterproof roof membrane. When everything’s ready, we lay the tiles that match your property perfectly and complete the roofing work. Then we clean the area with great attention to detail and ensure you are satisfied with the work.
Once we replace your old heat-conductive roof with our insulated, tiled roof, you will have a comfortable room you can use year-round.
Midlands Insulated Conservatory (MIC) is a family-run company that has been serving households in Northamptonshire since 2019. Here’s what makes us stand out:
If you can only use your conservatory for part of the year, an insulated and tiled roof will create a comfortable, fresh, and quiet space you can enjoy anytime you want.
Why wait? Book your free, no-obligation assessment today!
As the structure will remain the same even after replacing your old roof with tiles, you don’t usually require planning permission. However, depending on your conservatory, Building Regulations approval may apply.
While most of our projects are completed within 3-5 days, the time required to complete your conservatory roof depends on its size and condition.
Most frames are ready to handle the tiled roof. When we assess your conservatory roof during our initial survey, we will know whether it has sufficient integrity to support the new roof.
